filter4

Project

Since 2001, filter4 exists in what was once a landmark water purification plant in the Bruderholz mountains. The 110-year-old water tower once played a central role in supplying drinking water to the population of Basel. The cultural association now based there consists of a total of six members. Each season, up to fifteen people work on individual projects on the premises. From May to the end of October, as many as five art exhibitions, ten concerts, and approximately the same number of private events are organized and hosted there. The events typically focus on contemporary art and interdisciplinary projects. Filter4 cooperates with artists, artist groups, and other cultural institutions and initiatives from Switzerland and abroad. The uniqueness of its location and the publicity it has earned through networking are at the center of the multifaceted activities it supports.
