invitro
Project
Basel-based conceptual artist Niel Thaler launched the invitro project in 2001 and since then has hosted the smallest artist-run space in the city. Each year, Thaler realizes one or two projects himself in an old restaurant display case in Gerbergasse. Small in size but accessible around the clock to city-center pedestrians, the various exhibitions are always designed with different themes. Each project starts from scratch and the only fixed limit for the installations is that set by the size of their location. At invitro, the emphasis is on continuity and a multifaceted formal vocabulary.Contact
