lotsremark Projekte

Project

The independent art space lotsremark Projekte was launched in 2012 by Janine Stoll and Harald Kraemer. It has also been active in Hong Kong since 2014. Since its inception, it has staged a total of around twenty exhibitions and events with twenty-six artists, and has produced several artist books. The space in Basel—an old, renovated building with a large shop window—hosts up to four exhibitions a year. Each exhibition is accompanied by a supporting program. The projects at the Hong Kong branch take place in various locations. Following their motto “a/abc/acd,” the two owners exhibit artists or groups that they find striking or worthy of support, irrespective of the movement or whether the works are by young or by established artists. One of the aims of their art publications is to close existing gaps. lotsremark Projekte has set itself the goal of promoting cultural exchange: one of the ways in which they achieve this is their artist-in-residence program, which provides a studio, living space, and the opportunity for an exhibition. One example of this was the cultural exchange program “Interval in Space”, a collaboration with Fundaziun Nairs and the Osage Art Foundation in Hong Kong in which a total of ten artists from Hong Kong, Austria, and Switzerland participated.
